Trees and Forests

     The minute I spotted this shirt at the flea market, I instantly thought of lush hunter green trees in an overgrown forest. Vivid imagination I have, don't I? Besides that, once I felt the texture of the pattern on the shirt I was convinced I needed this. (its a soft velour on a sheer shirt: super duper soft!) I didn't realize how large the shirt was since I forgot to look closely at the size. oopsies. Nothing a belt can't fix but after looking at these photos, I might need a bit of a wider belt and a tighter one at that. I had to roll up the sleeves because if I didn't, it'd look like I had no hands! I wore this with a grey cut-off v-neck tank. I may need a longer tank under since it looks like I might not be wearing anything except a bra. second oopsies. Fashion is after all a bit of trial and error no?

 These shoes are actually navy suede heels which go with the clutch. Scroll down for a better pic :)

Canadian Tuxedo?

     So, I got a remark that since I was wearing basically all over denim I was wearing a Canadian Tuxedo? Hmm.. At least I was comfortable enough to wander around a flea market all day! I did however commit a fashion no-no by wearing the same tank TWO days in a row. Hope you don't mind it. I needed layers for the odd weather we had yesterday. I was a bit cold earlier in the day but then after a couple hours the sun was shining and I had to take my chambray shirt off and tie it around my waist, thereby making a slight homage to the 90s. My second fashion no-no of the day. I know. *sigh. There were TOO many wonderful things at this gigantic flea market but I was a very good girl and only spent a whopping $18 total! Plus I got to whip out my uber cute foldable tote bag to carry all my finds. Now.. ready yourself for a picture heavy post!

I will be in this oufit again since I was ridiculously comfortable and still felt so put together.

I need a pedicure since the only polish left is on my big toes and they're only half covered. Yikes!

Ball jars! I wanted to buy the whole lot of them but my dad talked me out of it.

Such pretty colors! My dad and I are also planning on using some of those big abalone shells as planters for succulents and cacti!

This locker set-up gave me the interesting idea of having this as storage in a play/rec room where certain lockers can be left open to highlight the items placed in them! I also love all the little dwarves lining the bottom. So whimsical.

I still have no idea what these metal trays are for but I just love this picture with the green truck in the back!

Thrifted Leaves

     Beeyootiful Leaves. I like leaves. The name of this blog should probably have clued you into that little fact. The fact that I almost always wear a ring with leaves on it is further proof. Need more? Okay, how about a thrifted tray and garden accents? Still not enough? Geez. I'm out.

     Anyways, back to the thrifted finds! Found these leaf-themed items at Goodwill the other day. Upon seeing them, I knew I could use them to store jewelry and display commonly used trinkets. I know the big silver leaf is a tray of some sort. But, the colorful smaller-metal leaves, I'm not so sure. They are pretty heavy for being so small and seem like heavy duty accents for outdoor use. Then again, they are also perfect for displaying bangles, bracelets and small earrings. Just sayin'.

Victorious...

                           Yes, I am. Victorious that is. How do you ask? Why let me tell you...

     I made a trip to my local Goodwill to browse since I had just driven for about an hour and a half IN traffic. I needed a break. Nothing better than a little thrifting to ease your mind away from that jerk that cut you off TWICE.

     I scored two items on this trip, both of which went into use promptly within five minutes of being home. Both items came to a grand total of... 7 dollars! The first was a large oddly shaped wooden bowl that was super smooth on the inside and pretty bumpy on the outside. A perfect fruit bowl? Perhaps. The second, an ADORABLE miniature cream-colored metal chair with lace details. This chair is precious not only because of its cuteness, it's perfect for hanging earrings and hair clips!

     I first spotted it (a.k.a. perfect earring display) in the hands of a grandma who was CLEARLY still deciding. I wanted to give her some space so instead of asking her about it I circled the two surrounding aisles five times and peeked around the corner about ten times checking to see if she put it down. I may have been slightly creepy and was hovering just a tiny bit, but once she set it down I scooped that chair up and headed straight to the registers!
